PETER KARP & SUE FOLEY BAND TO APPEAR AT FUNDRAISER
Gold Hill Mesa, 142 South Raven Mine Drive, Colorado Springs, Co
National blues recording artists Peter Karp and Sue Foley Band will be performing at a fundraiser to support victims of the Waldo Canyon fire, on Sunday, July 15, 2012. The event will be held at Gold Hill Mesa, 142 S. Raven Mine Drive, Colorado Springs, from 4 to 8pm. Opening the event will be local favorites, Adam & Stilwagen, finalists in the 2011 International Blues Challenge held in Memphis. The concert will go on rain or shine (will move inside if inclement weather). Please bring chairs or blanks to sit on. You are welcome to bring your own food for a picnic, but food vendors will be available. “With the Waldo Canyon fire still vivid in everyone’s memory, community support is at an all-time high. 100% of all funds raised through this event will go to a combination of charities-Pikes Peak Community Foundation has established a fund specific to the Waldo Canyon Fire and our Red Cross.” explains Amy Whitesell of A Music Company Inc., organizer of the event. “Peter and Sue were passing through Colorado from New Mexico and agreed to donate their services for the benefit of our community. This is a great opportunity for music fans to enjoy this national touring act and help the community in doing so. Peter and Sue’s most recent release, Beyond the Crossroads, is a celebration of triumph over tragedy, optimism over despair and faith over hopelessness. It’s uncanny that the subject matter of their CD speaks directly about what our neighbors are most likely experiencing” says Whitesell. Everyone associated with the event is donating their services and /or goods.
